After activating
VoLTE across its LTE sites in Metro Manila, Smart is making the latest technology in voice calls initially available to selected Smart subscribers.
"When the
VoLTE would be introduced, people will get benefit from it," said the minister, adding that the MNOs have already given permission to deploy such type of technology.
According to the latest Ericsson Mobility Report, the number of worldwide
VoLTE subscriptions is projected to reach 5.4 billion by the end of 2023, up from 617 million in 2017, and will account for around 80 percent of combined LTE and 5G subscriptions.

VoLTE based international roaming services in India whereby international roamers will be enjoying HD voice and LTE high-speed Data.
VoLTE will enable customers to make better quality voice calls as well as use voice and data at the same time.

VoLTE service has been fully implemented on its network and the service is under the final assessment.
With its undisputed end-user benefits which include a fast call setup time of two to three seconds, a considerably higher audio quality and improved usability,
VoLTE is an untapped customer experience opportunity for operators.
