Various types of glycidyl ethers are commercially available that include allyl glycidyl ether, butyl glycidyl ether,
naphthyl glycidyl ether and others.
Griess reagent contains 1% sulfanilamide, 2% phosphoric acid, and 0.1%
naphthyl ethylenediamine dihydrochloride in 100 ml of distilled water.
The chemical basis of the test is a color change that takes place when the compound
naphthyl ethylenediamine is added to the offshoot of the reaction amid sulfanilamide and nitrite.
We found statistically significant correlations between increased resistance to 5-fluorocytosine and higher activity of acid phosphatase; increased resistance to ketoconazole and higher activity of beta-glucuronidase; increased resistance to miconazole and higher activity of beta-glucosidase; increased resistance to itraconazole and higher activity of N-acetyl-beta-D-glucosidase, as well as increased susceptibility to itraconazole and higher enzymatic activity of cystine arylamidase and
naphthyl phosphohydrolase.
Then, 20ul of Griess reagent 1: 1 mixture of 1% sulphanilamide dihydrochloride and 0.1%
Naphthyl ethylenediamine dihydrochloride in 2.5% H3PO4.
* Organic pigments (aromatic surface treatment)--Dispersants containing phenyl or
naphthyl groups are recommended.
In the classical series of glitazones, all of them consist of a phenyl group central to the chemical structure, except Englitazone and Netoglitazone which contain benzdihydropyran and
naphthyl moieties, respectively.
The azo dye coupling methods were used for acid phosphatase and alkaline phosphatase, with naphthol AS-BI phosphate and [alpha]-naphthol phosphate as substrates, and for non-specific esterases, with the substrates [alpha]-naphthyl acetate,
naphthyl AS-D chloroacetate, and Tween-80 (DifCo), as described in Bancroft and Hand (1987).
Indeed, typically esterases are assayed by monitoring their activities with substrates such as nitrophenyl and
naphthyl acetates.
The purpose of the grafted end groups was to hinder the molecular interactions between PUs and the selected end groups, e.g., adamantyl,
naphthyl, phenyl, and phenoxyphenyl groups, which commonly possess rigid ring structures that are incompatible with the flexible PUs.
(98),(99) Presumably the
naphthyl ring of MoNP esters would exert greater anisotropic shielding effects than [alpha]-methoxy-[alpha]-trifluoromethylphenylacetic acid (MTPA) phenyl group.
