As of August 3, the advance mapping team, along with Zion's contractor, completed preparation of the
geophone locations in and around local town areas.
Among the experiments proposed under the junior researchers programme is one proposed by two Omani students of Um Alkhair School for water detection via a
geophone mounted on a rover which measures the reflection of ultrasound waves.
Another program is the 'Water Explorer', a junior researchers program for water detection via a
geophone mounted on a rover, which measures the reflection of ultrasound waves.
The detector was selected as the Triaxial
Geophone, which is capable of collecting the radial, the normal, and the tangential wave velocities in rock mass during blasting.
Caption: Figure 10: Examples of P-wave SRT profiles and MASW results on Site 1: (a) SRT for seismic profile SP07 parallel to the valley orientation, with shots S01 (at 0 m, near first
geophone G01) and S24 (at 115 m, near last
geophone G24), with 100 m offsets to both sides (S01-100, S24+100) and 200 m offsets (S01-200, S24+200); (a1) and (a2) show MASW results (Vs-logs and surface wave dispersion diagrams) obtained for SP07 for the two 100 m offset shots.
"The device has a Bluetooth sensor, which emits ultrasonic waves using
geophone technology that goes deep into Mars.
To determine the spatial location of seismic sources, the constant velocity model ([V.sub.P] = 4000 m/s for
geophones #1-6, [V.sub.P] = 3000 m/s for
geophones #7-10, and [V.sub.P] = 2800 m/s for
geophone #16) was used.
The two components X and Z are used for
geophone receiving, and X direction denotes the tunneling direction, and Z direction denotes the direction being perpendicular to the floor (Roslee et al., 2017).
The ultra-precision vibration isolator contains a proximity sensor, a
geophone, and a voice coil motor in vertical and horizontal direction, respectively.
