The sections were dewaxed and rehydrated, an antigen retrieval procedure was performed to unmask antigens by treating the samples three times in a microwave oven at medium-high fire for 5 min each time in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.

Adult injected with 50 ng expression vectors (pGL3-A4 or B4-JENS3) for 5 days, mosquitoes were fixed in 10% buffered formalin, paraffin-embedded, and 5-microm cut slices were dewaxed in xylene, rehydrated through graded alcohol, and subjected to an endogenous peroxide blocking.

Hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining was performed on paraffin slices of the femoral heads of rats as follows: the slices were dewaxed in xylene, dehydrated in a gradient of ethyl alcohol, rinsed 3 times with distilled water, stained with hematoxylin, differentiated in 1% HCl ethanol for 30 s, washed with running tap water for 15 min, stained with eosin, washed with running tap water for 3 min, dehydrated again in a gradient of ethyl alcohol, vitrified in xylene, and finally mounted in resinene.

The chemical composition of the dewaxed bamboo was as follows: 50.8% glucose, 22.9% xylose, 1.1% arabinose, 19.5% galactose, 17.0% Klason lignin, 2.5% acid-soluble lignin, and 2.5% ash.
